A drive is under way to get 3,000 people to dance the Hokey Pokey on the Walkway Over the Hudson in hopes of setting a world record.

News that the economic impact of the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park is even greater than predicted means more help in attracting business and jobs.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - A new study says the Walkway Over the Hudson draws almost half its visitors from beyond the immediate area.

U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer visited the City of Poughkeepsie this afternoon to announce CSX railroad will sell to Walkway Over the Hudson an 8/10 of a mile stretch of rail bed connecting the pedestrian bridge to the Dutchess Rail Trail.

On a mild Saturday in early January, hundreds of people thronged the Walkway Over the Hudson to take advantage of the beautiful weather and views.

A letter we received recently from a reader of Rails to Trails magazine provided a tremendous insight into the many benefits of trails to residents, businesses and communities.
