With bids expected to be advertised in the Fall of 2011, construction of a new high-speed, 21-story elevator linking the City of Poughkeepsie waterfront with the Walkway will begin in 2012. 

Benches – at last! On a warm June morning recently, 10 fabulous Ipe wood benches custom designed for Walkway by artist Douglas Thayer Woodworking and Design were delivered to the Walkway and they were an immediate hit. 

Walkway Over the Hudson will be celebrating Hudson Valley Arts and Crafts at its third Community Night, Friday, July 15.

Walkway's "Celebration of Our 4-Legged Friends" will feature a pooch parade and other dog-oriented activities on Friday, May 27.

Beginning May 20th, the Poughkeepsie Farmer's Market will be relocating to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park and Pulaski Park. The decision to move and expand follows a season of careful consideration by a number of parties including current market stakeholders, city officials, representatives from the Walkway Over the Hudson Friends organization and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
