Tickets Available for Sept. 9th ‘Experience the Wonder’ Fundraiser

Walkway Over the Hudson announced this week there are still tickets available for the "Experience the Wonder" fundraising event on Friday, Sept. 9th when the nonprofit organization honors the Dyson Foundation for its extraordinary commitment to the creation of Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park.

"Although many people, government agencies, and organizations joined in the remarkable effort that created the world's longest elevated pedestrian bridge, the Dyson Foundation's many contributions were pivotal in realizing the dream," said Walkway Executive Director Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart. "This event is the Walkway organization's only major fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event will help us continue our important work to bring hundreds of thousands of visitors to the Hudson Valley each year."

The "Experience the Wonder" event is scheduled for 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Walkway's western entrance in Highland. Tickets are $150 each and can be reserved by calling (845) 454-9649. Because of the special event, the park's western entrance (Highland) and the western portion of the Walkway will close to the public at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Walkway's eastern (Poughkeepsie) entrance will remain open through its normal closing schedule at 7:30pm.

Walkway's "Experience the Wonder" Fundraising Event has received generous sponsorship support from many community businesses, organizations, and patrons. Top sponsors include: Fort Miller Company, Health Quest, Lucy Waletsky MD, Amy Goldman. Central Hudson Gas & Electric, Harrison & Burrowes, IBM, Marist College, Scenic Hudson, TC Development Corp., and Vassar College.
